PACKED BAGS AND GONE! JAMES MADDISON AXED BY SOUTHGATE

It has just been confirmed today that James Maddison has been DROPPED by Gareth Southgate from the England Squad, with Maddison one of seven set to be dropped.

The Tottenham Ace will likely be followed by Liverpool youngsters Jarrell Quansah and Curtis Jones, both of which are yet to make their senior debut for England. It is believed both Jones and Maddison have already left the England camp.

Maddison being dropped is the shock news of the camp so far, with his second half-of-the-season performances, self admittingly on social media, not being up to scratch. The attacking midfield position for England is a heavily contested one, with the likes of in-form Ebere Eze, Spanish League Player of the Season Jude Bellingham, Premier League Young Player of the Season Cole Palmer and Player of the Season Phil Foden fighting for the squad. Other midfield stars, such as Kobbie Mainoo, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Declan Rice, would have also been on the wanted pile higher than Maddison.

Maddison’s emissions means that no Tottenham Hotspur players will feature for England at the Euro’s. More squad news to follow…
